Enter connection details

Use this page to enter the connection details for the current Discoverer Viewer user. This page is displayed when partial connection details have been provided when you invoke Discoverer Viewer using URL parameters.

Note: The password for the current Discoverer username is separate from your single sign-on password.

Connect To

Use this drop down list to select the application being used to open the connection.

Connection Name

Use this field to enter the connection name being used to open the connection.

User Name

Use this field to enter the username being used to open the connection.

Responsibility

Use this field to enter the Oracle Applications responsibility that you want to use to log in to Discoverer (e.g. UK_Purchasing). Responsibility values are case-sensitive.

You can additionally use this field to enter the Oracle Applications security group that you want to use to log in to Discoverer (e.g. UK_Managers). Security Group values are case-sensitive.

The format for entering the Oracle Applications responsibility and Security Group values is as follows:

<responsibility>:<security_group>

Note: This field is only displayed when you select Oracle Applications from the Connect To drop down list.

Password

Use this field to enter the password given to you by the database administrator. Discoverer uses this password to authenticate the current username.

Note: This field is not displayed when the following conditions apply:

Database

Use this field to enter the name of the database being used to open the connection.

End User Layer

Use this field to enter the name of the End User Layer being used to open the connection. This field is case sensitive, therefore you must enter the EUL name using the correct combination of lower and uppercase characters (most EUL names are uppercase).

Note: This field does not apply to Discoverer OLAP connections.

Locale

Use this drop down list to select the locale being used to open the connection.

Go

Use this button to open the connection.
